Who The Dansko Company Is

Mandy Cabot and Peter Kjellerup formed the Dansko Company in 1993. They were "horse people." In fact, Peter was actually Mandy's riding instructor. Eventually though, this two became a couple and set up a horse farm in Pennsylvania.

On a trip to Peter's hometown in Denmark these two discovered a small shoe store, which specialized in selling the perfect barn shoe. This was a closed back clog. Once they began talking about it with their friends back home, the Dansko (meaning Danish shoe) Company came to be formed. Today, this company not only makes its famous clogs but it also makes boots, sandals, wedges, flats and even heels.

These shoes are made out of an oiled leather, which is very popular in restaurant, medical and horse fields since they are very comfortable for people who have to spend a lot of time on their feet.
